Explore the Carretera Austral like never before.
Chile’s Carretera Austral, also known as “Route 7”, begins in the city of Puerto Montt and ends 1,235 km further south at the pier on Lake O’Higgins. The rugged geography, a result of the elements, offers scenic wonders that are unique in the world. The route enters the continent by sea through the Comau fjord.
Further south, the Patagonian Ice Fields are born. These vast frozen fields are the second largest freshwater reserve on the planet after Greenland, in terms of quantity of ice and size.
